Before we dive into coding, let's set up the development environment. We will use IntelliJ IDEA, a popular IDE developed by JetBrains, which provides excellent support for Kotlin.

1. Download IntelliJ IDEA:

   • Go to the JetBrains website.
   • Download the Community Edition (free) or the Ultimate Edition (paid).

2. Install IntelliJ IDEA:

   • Follow the installation instructions for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux).

3. Create a New Kotlin Project:

   • Open IntelliJ IDEA.
   • Click on "Create New Project".
   • Select "Kotlin" from the list of project types.
   • Choose "JVM | IDEA" as the project template.
   • Click "Next" and configure your project settings (e.g., project name, location).
   • Click "Finish" to create the project.

4. Verify the Setup:

   • Create a new Kotlin file by right-clicking on the src folder, selecting "New", and then "Kotlin File/Class".
   • Name the file Main.kt.
   • Add the following code to Main.kt:
