The end of the course is the start of practice. A useful action plan connects one concrete change with an objective, small actions, support, indicators and a review date.

30-day template

  1. Change or challenge: what is changing and why does it matter?
  2. Objective: what observable outcome do you want to achieve?
  3. Learning priority: what must you understand or practise first?
  4. Actions: which two steps will you take each week?
  5. Support: who will give you context or feedback?
  6. Evidence: what will you measure or observe?
  7. Review: when will you decide to continue, adapt or stop?

Share the plan with someone who can challenge your assumptions and support you. Adaptability is not a solitary project.

Common Mistakes and Tips

Mistake: writing a plan too large to begin. Tip: reduce it to one change, one capability and two weekly actions.

Mistake: not scheduling the review. Tip: put the date in the calendar before starting the first step.

Exercise: Seven-Day Commitment

Complete the template for a real challenge and select the smallest action you will take in the next seven days. Tell a support person.

Suggested Solution

For a new tool: objective, complete three test cases; action, two 25-minute sessions; support, an experienced colleague; evidence, errors and time; review, next Friday.

Conclusion

An action plan turns the course into sustained behaviour: act at a small scale, learn from evidence and adjust regularly.
